Dragonfly

A dragonfly is a large, flying insect. Dragonflies come in a rainbow of colors, and are often seen hovering over lakes, ponds, and wetlands. That’s where they live.

They have two pairs of wings and an elongated body. (They kind of look like little planes flying over the water.)

Dragonfly adults don’t usually bite, but their larvae might, so be careful!

Where Do Dragonflies Live?

Dragonflies are usually found around fresh water. That’s where they are born.

What Do Dragonflies Eat?

Both the adults and the larvae (baby dragonflies) eat other insects (and they like flies and mosquitoes!).
